My husband who is full on FOB and I, an ex FOB, have two ABCD kids and two toy dogs (GASP). You are right when you say many desis laugh at the sight of a dog owner scooping up dog poop, LOL! But lately, I have been seeing an increase in dog-ownership amongst younger desis in the area where I live. Also, it is fashionable amongst the wealthier Indians in India to own dogs. I wouldn’t be surprised if dog-ownership becomes more mainstream in India once more Bollywood celebs start showing off their furry pets:).

Right on the money my grandma was a Desi woman and guess what we, my younger and I would wait around for her to fall asleep so that we could pilfer some of her stash, few times we got caught and had hell to pay.

Forget about Desi parents when I was looking to buy my first car with money I earned working at Jack-in-the-box after college classes my brothers told me, ” what you gonna do with a car why God gave you such strong beautiful legs, for walking otherwise you’ll get fat like those Gori friends of yours.”

Best blog, gave me such laughter I was almost in tears. Reason I am sitting here reading this is b/c my beloved daughter who is in college 6+hour drive from home just got a puppy for company and I refused to visit ad share same apartment with her furry lil friend. Hahaha! you are so right.

I remember reading a funny quote that went something like this: “If aliens were to land on earth, they would think that the dogs ruled earth. They have the humans working day and night while they laze around at home. Heck, they even have the humans collecting their crap after them!”
